Fighting homelessness with dignity and grace.

At Streets of Paradise, we believe housing is a human right—and that everyone deserves the dignity of home. Our programs are rooted in the simple but powerful philosophy of Love~Act~Repeat. We meet people exactly where they are, with compassion, practical support, and a deep commitment to mutual aid and justice. We oppose poverty, racism, violence, and climate injustice. Service alone isn’t enough. We also advocate for systems change—to ensure that housing, healthcare, safety, and dignity are not privileges, but rights. We attend city and county meetings, participate in policy discussions, and build coalitions to fight for housing justice and human rights. We speak truth to power and empower those most affected to do the same.

We do not discriminate based on housing status, race, gender identity, income, ability, background, or belief. We serve:

  • Individuals and families without homes
  • Survivors of domestic violence, trafficking, and disaster
  • LGBTQIA+ youth and adults
  • BIPOC and immigrant communities
  • Veterans, seniors, and those living with disabilities
  • Anyone in need of connection, care, and hope

Our Programs

We offer a full spectrum of services that respond to both immediate crises and long-term needs. Our programs are people-powered, community-rooted, and driven by a relentless belief that love, when acted upon and repeated, can change everything.

Let’s build paradise, together.  Love ~ Act ~ Repeat

Mobile Outreach

Love on wheels.

Every week, our Mobile Outreach Team hits the streets of Sarasota and Manatee Counties to bring comfort, dignity, and essential care to unhoused neighbors. Our approach is relational, consistent, and rooted in trust.

We offer:

  • Over 150 hot meals per week
  • Hygiene kits, clothing, blankets, and water
  • Connection to resources, healthcare, and housing
  • Mobile ADA-accessible shower & laundry service
  • Case management referrals and follow-up support

Where others see statistics, we see people. And we show up for them, again and again.

Street To Home

A furnished home is a kept home.

Studies show that people are 87% more likely to stay housed when they move into a furnished home. That’s why our Home Furnishings Program is at the heart of what we do. Since March 2019, we’ve furnished over 500 homes per year—turning empty units into sanctuaries.

We provide:

  • Beds, dressers, tables, and couches
  • Kitchenware, towels, toiletries, and more
  • Delivery and set-up using our box truck (a gift from the Red Cross)

We serve:

  • Individuals and families exiting homelessness
  • Foster youth aging out of care
  • Survivors of domestic violence or disaster
  • Veterans, seniors, and people with disabilities
  • Anyone rebuilding their lives after life disruption

By appointment only, from our warehouse at 8251 15th St East, Sarasota, or delivered directly by our volunteer team.

Volunteer & Service Programs

We are a people-powered movement.

Our incredible volunteers are the engine behind everything we do. Whether moving furniture, distributing meals, packing hygiene kits, or offering healing modalities, our community shows up with heart and hustle.

Ways to get involved:

  • Join the Move-In Crew (muscles needed!)
  • Help in our warehouse sorting and organizing
  • Cook or serve weekly meals
  • Assist with outreach and mobile showers
  • Become a program host at the LAR
  • Offer a skill, workshop, or service

We believe everyone has something to give—and we’re better when we give it together. To join us, fill out the Volunteer Inquiry Form.

Disaster Relief & Recovery

Mutual aid in action.

Streets of Paradise is a Red Cross CAP (Community Adaptation Program) Partner and serves as Southwest Florida’s mutual aid disaster relief hub. Before, during, and after every storm, we mobilize quickly to meet urgent needs while building long-term resilience in our communities.

Our disaster response includes:

  • Emergency food, water, and supplies
  • Mobile ADA-compliant shower & laundry services
  • Evacuation shelter bedding & toiletry kits
  • Fans, tarps, coolers, bug spray, and other essential items
  • Furnishing homes damaged or destroyed by storms
  • Coordinating directly with shelters and county services

We’ve responded to every major storm in recent years—including Hurricanes Ian, Debby, Helene, and Milton—and remain in recovery mode year-round. Our CAP and Mutual Aid partnerships helps us act faster, stretch resources further, and advocate more effectively for vulnerable populations impacted by climate violence.

Love~Act~Repeat Center

A home for healing, connection, and community.

Out of great loss came great beauty. We created the Love~Act~Repeat (LAR), a vibrant, welcoming place where art, wellness, recovery, and community service come together.

From this space, we offer:

  • Community meals and food distribution
  • Yoga, sound healing, breathwork, and meditation
  • Art classes and shows, open mics, writing circles, and workshops
  • Recovery, peer support, and roundtable discussions
  • Volunteer training and mutual aid coordination
  • Disaster relief staging and distribution

We’re currently welcoming hosts, teachers, facilitators, artists, and neighbors to co-create the offerings in this space. If you have something to share, we’d love to hear from you.

Future Programs We’re Building

We dream forward. As our mission evolves, so do our programs. Here’s what’s on the horizon:

  • Case Management for Every Move-In – Providing follow-up support, goal setting, and accountability.
  • Seeds of Paradise (working title) – A nurturing program designed to help people grow purpose, skills, and self-worth.
  • Heart Speaks Roundtables – Monthly themed discussion groups with text support and recommended reading.
  • ‘Beneath the Noise’ – A grief-centered future gathering rooted in silence, safety, and story.
  • Transitional Housing Crisis Shelter – A compassionate, short-term refuge for individuals and families in immediate need. This shelter will serve those in the gap—waiting for permanent housing, recovering from disaster, or escaping violence. With trauma-informed support, dignified space, and holistic care, we aim to create a soft place to land while rebuilding the road ahead.

If you’d like to help build or support these emerging ideas, we’d love to connect.
