We’re so glad you’re here. Volunteers are the heart of everything we do at Streets of Paradise. Whether you’re preparing meals, helping someone move into their first home, or offering a warm smile to someone on the street—your presence matters deeply.

This page outlines who we are, the opportunities available, and the simple protocols we ask all volunteers to follow to ensure we serve with dignity, consistency, and grace.

Streets of Paradise is a 501(c)3 nonprofit dedicated to fighting homelessness with compassion and community. Through street outreach, home furnishing, mutual aid disaster relief, and access to essential resources, we support individuals and families as they transition into stable housing and healthier lives.

We welcome volunteers from all backgrounds and skillsets. Here are some of the many ways you can get involved:

• Foodshares – Prepare and/or serve meals to our unhoused neighbors.
• Street Outreach – Build relationships and offer essential items to those still living outside.
• Warehouse Support – Help organize, clean, and stock donations.
• Donation Assistance – Identify, coordinate, and assist with pickups of household items and furniture.
• Move-In Days – Be part of the joyful process of turning empty spaces into homes.
• Events – Help us make community gatherings, fundraisers, and drives successful.
• Administrative Support – From data entry to grant writing, there’s always a need for behind-the-scenes help.
• Love~Act~Repeat Hosts – Help us welcome community members into our new space with warmth, presence, and care. Whether you’re greeting guests, facilitating connection, assisting with setup, or just holding space with a kind heart, you are what makes Love~Act~Repeat feel like home.

To keep everyone safe, supported, and aligned with our mission, we ask that all volunteers:

1. Complete the Volunteer Application and agree to these guidelines prior to joining us in the field or warehouse.
2. Represent SOP with Respect – When you wear our shirt, you wear our mission. Treat everyone—clients, team members, and fellow volunteers—with kindness and dignity.
3. Protect Our Community – Gloves are required during food service. ServeSafe certification is encouraged.
4. Respect Our Clients – The people we serve are our neighbors and deserve to be treated with the same respect you’d show your closest friend.
5. Uplift the Team – We’re a family. Conflict is normal but negativity isn’t. We ask all volunteers to help create a welcoming and encouraging space for one another.
6. Follow Communication Channels – Only designated spokespeople speak on behalf of the organization in public forums or to media. If approached with questions about SOP, kindly direct them to us.
7. Bring a Friend (Responsibly) – We love when friends tag along! If they want to keep volunteering, please have them complete the same application process.
