Whether coordinating emergency relief or rolling up her sleeves on move-in day, Cathy leads with purpose, humility, and an unwavering belief that everyone deserves a safe, stable place to land.

Susan Nilon, J.D.

President
For Susan Nilon, helping people find stability and dignity through housing isn’t just a mission—it’s part of her family’s story. Her parents founded a homeless outreach in Sarasota that served the community for more than 25 years, and Susan grew up surrounded by their example of compassion and service.

Carrying that legacy forward, Susan has devoted her life to supporting those experiencing homelessness and hardship in Sarasota and Manatee counties. As President of Streets of Paradise, she continues to build on her family’s work by fostering partnerships, creating housing opportunities, and ensuring that everyone has the chance to rebuild their lives with hope and dignity. Susan also serves as a Legislative Advisor in Washington, D.C., where she advocates for policies that support artists, entrepreneurs, and community-focused nonprofits. Her experience in law, media, and public policy strengthens her ability to bring resources and awareness to the needs of Sarasota’s most vulnerable residents.
